Very happy that so many robust and featureful applications exist even without million+ dollar investments and salaried devs, darktable being one of them. I really dream of a world where essential creative power-tools are free to anyone with the ability and inclination to use them (lowering the barrier of entry is good, too). Slightly tangential digression: I always say if I won the mega-MEGA millions, I'd immediately set out to fund Blender-level replacements for any offering Adobe (etc) has ever made. 3 darktable darktable is one of the most popular free and open source RAW. If I had the dev chops and the time, I'd jump on the opportunity. macOS has lots of options when it comes to high-quality free RAW converters. This would really bum me out and be a big loss to the FLOSS photography workflows possible on macOS.
Kuzmin has indicated that he wishes to move on to other projects, which leaves Darktable without a macOS developer.
a single developer, Igor Kuzmin or “parafin,” has been responsible for macOS maintenance and packaging for the last 10 years.
